Executive Camp Director (ECD) (1 Position)

Job Term: Summer 2026 – (July-August) 9 WeeksStart \Hours/Day: 7 HoursSalary: $22 per hour

The ECD oversees the coordination and administration of all aspects of the True Church of Jesus Christ Fellowship(TCJC)summer camp program including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling program activities and reports to the Pastor of TCJC

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The ECD performs a wide range of duties including some or all of the following:

PLAN THE PROGRAM

  • Plan the delivery of the summer camp program and its activities in accordance with the stated mission and the goals of the camp.
  • Develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the camp/Church.
  • Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the camp.
  • Develop budget and operating plan in conjunction with the Pastor of TCJC.
  • Develop a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement.

ORGANIZE THE PROGRAM

  • Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the camp.
  • Update forms and records to document camp activities.
  • Oversee the collection and maintenance of records on the clients of the camp for statistical purposes according to the confidentiality/privacy policy.

STAFF THE PROGRAM

  • Recruit, interview and select well-qualified program staff.
  • Implement approved human resources policies, procedures and practices.
  • Ensure that personnel files are properly maintained and kept confidential.
  • Establish and implement a performance management process for all program staff.
  • Engage volunteers for appropriate program activities (See managing volunteers below for more information).
  • Ensure that all program staff receive appropriate orientation to the Church and programs and holds requisite documents in accordance with relevant laws (e.g. vulnerable sector checks, CPR, First Aid, etc.)

LEAD THE PROGRAM

  • Ensure all staff members receive orientation and appropriate training in accordance with established standards.
  • Supervise program staff by providing direction, input and feedback.
  • Communicate with clients and other stakeholders to gain community support for the program and to solicit input to improve the program.
  • Liaise with other Church staff to ensure effective and efficient program delivery.
  • Where appropriate, coordinate the delivery of services among different program activities to increase effectiveness and efficiency.

CONTROL THE PROGRAM

  • Prepare reports/presentations on the program for management and funders.
  • Ensure funder agreement requirements are executed.
  • Ensure that the program operate within the approved budget.
  • Monitor and approve all budgeted program expenditures.
  • Monitor cash flow, projections, and report actual cash flow and variance as appropriate.
  • Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all financial records for the program are up to date.
  • Ensure financial reports and supporting documentation for funders are prepared as outlined in funding agreements.
  • Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program activities and take appropriate action to control the risks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Knowledge of program management and previous Teaching experience.
  • Knowledge of client groups and/or issues related to the program area.

PROFICIENCY IN THE USE OF COMPUTERS FOR:

  • Word processing
  • Spreadsheets
  • E-mail
  • Internet

  • Solve Problems: Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The Executive Director works a standard work week and or modified work week in conjunction with the Pastor and Student Camp Director.

Administrative Assistant (1 Position and Counsellor)

Job Term: Summer 2026 – (July-August) 8 Weeks

Start Date: July 6th 2026

End Date: August 28th, 2026

No. Hours/Day: 7 Hours Per Day

Salary: $18 per hour

WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO DO IN THIS ROLE?

Reporting directly to the Executive Director/Pastor, the Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the  True Church of Jesus Christ Fellowship Summer Camp.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Establishing and maintaining files, records and databases in a professional and organized fashion paying particular attention to confidentiality and privacy.

Posses excellent written and verbal skills.

Perform routine administrative duties including word processing, formatting documents, photocopying, scanning, faxing, mailing, filing, coding bills, petty cash, minute taking and assisting with scheduling.

The Administrative Assistant will be required to complete registrations for campers and assist in completing intake packages for new campers and the coordination of events, information sessions, training, and meetings.

Schedule and book field trip activities and engage in the administration of employee documentation as well as time and attendance.

Work within the team to create a welcoming and friendly environment for campers, employees, and families.

Assist staff in logistical management of approved initiatives to support the camp’s goals, including acquisition of supplies, inventory management, bookkeeping and strategic planning.

Other duties as assigned including assistance at lunch and snack times, camper activities and field trips.

Attendance during training sessions and regular meetings is also required and s/he is required to maintain accurate records, incident reports, attendance, other duties as assigned, and report any incidents directly to the Executive director.

HOW DO I QUALIFY?

Must be between the ages of 15-30 years at the start of the employment. Maybe more than 30 years at the end of the employment period.

Applicants must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person to whom Refugees protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; for the duration of employment, and have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant territorial and provincial legislation and regulations.

Demonstrated experience working with children and youth, preferably in a camp style setting. Agreement to comply with the values and principles of the MEAC Church, on which the program is built.

Complete all other application requirements e.g. complete and signed Code of Conduct form and agree to follow all camp objectives, rules, policies, and procedures as established by TCJC

Demonstrated leadership, responsibility, time management, decision-making skills and is able to work as part of a team.

Sound judgement and flexibility to work on a shift basis is also required.

Applicant must be willing to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check at their own expense before start of employment.

CPR Certified will be an asset, but not mandatory.

Camp Counsellor (3 Positions)

Job Term: Summer 2026 – (July-August) 8 Weeks Start Date: July 6th, 2026 End Date: August 28, 2026 No. Hours/Day: 7 Hours (On a shift rotation basis)Salary: $17.20 per hour

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the Student Camp Director working as part of a team:

  • Uses sound judgment and good decision-making skills
  • To create and sustain a welcoming, educational and fun-filled environment that ensures the health, safety and well-being of campers ranging from ages 5 (five) to 12 years from a diversity of backgrounds.
  • S/he is required to work on a seven (7) hour schedule on a rotational shift basis.
  • The Camp Counsellor will be a positive role model who demonstrates good work ethics, respect, compassion and value for all campers, co-workers and visitors to the facility.
  • S/he will help to develop and deliver age appropriate, fun, interactive activities to stimulate their minds and imagination both mentally and physically. S/he plans weekly recreational and after hours’ activities.
  • Preparation of simple breakfast and snacks for campers in the extended program will also be required. S/he will also supervise campers during recreational and special outings during field trips. S/he provides leadership in all aspects of program development, delivery and evaluation.
  • Activities may include arts and crafts, nature, songs, games, opening and closing ceremonies, swimming, and time spent on outdoor activities.
  • The Camp Counsellor will also be responsible for identifying and responding appropriately to camper behavior issues and ensure that the site is kept clean, organized, and free of litter and hazards.
  • S/he will be communicating often with parents about camper’s experiences and report concerns to the student camp director. S/he must know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
  • S/he is required to know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas.
  • This includes but is not limited to being responsible for campers’ safety and their whereabouts at all times. We will also rely on the Camp Counsellor to help volunteers have a deeper understanding of leadership and counselling skills.
  • Building on the positive rapport that s/he has established with campers the Camp Counsellor maintains discipline and safety at all times.
  • S/he will need to ensure the safety of campers with needs, example, knowing the dietary or medical needs of campers.
  • The Camp Counsellor supervises campers during snack/meal periods and drop off/pick up periods and be able to appropriately respond in (medical) emergency situations.
  • Attendance during training sessions and regular meetings is also required and s/he is required to maintain accurate records, incident reports, attendance, other duties as assigned, and report any incidents directly to the camp director.
